LASER DENTISTRY

Dr. Roth is laser certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry.  The use of lasers in dentistry has opened up many new advances in how dental procedures can be performed. Historically,  the use of a scalpel was required to cut tissue that required excision. This would cause bleeding and pain, and usually require sutures to close the wound. Now, with the use of lasers, unwanted tissue can be removed easily without bleeding or the necessity of sutures. The result is less discomfort for the patient and a faster healing time.

One of the newest advances in laser dentistry is the use of lasers to help control periodontal disease. For patients that have struggled with deep pockets and bleeding gums, the use of the laser in conjunction with traditional periodontal maintenance has shown promising results in helping patients maintain healthy gums.

Lasers can be used for many procedures, including:

  • Gingival Recontouring for Esthetic Purposes
  • Periodontal Pocket Sterilization
  • Excisional and Incisional Biopsies
  • Gingivectomies
  • Aphthous Ulcer (Cancer Sore) & Cold Sore Treatment
